Junior and Senior Consultants

  • Part or full time

  • Six-month contracts with the possibility of extending

  • Deadline: 21st March 2025

Are you a high-performing, purpose-driven consultant, passionate about accelerating action on climate change? Do you thrive in a close-knit, high-impact team and want to play a key role in growing a new business?

We’re looking for strategic, people-oriented and proactive consultants to support us in delivering a variety of projects for clients in the philanthropy and non-profit sectors.

Specifically, we’re looking for Senior and Junior Consultants with experience of strategy development, communications and fundraising to support on a variety of projects.

We value diverse perspectives, strong research skills, familiarity with philanthropy and knowledge about climate change, along with a commitment to delivering high quality.

Joining us at this early stage means you’ll play a key role in shaping our consultancy’s future and building our reputation. The projects and clients you work with will be varied and evolve over time, so adaptability, a positive mindset and a can-do attitude are essential.

What you'll do

  • Own and deliver multiple client projects, with support from the Directors

  • Support the development of strategies (including theories of change and monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks)

  • Assist with the design and delivery of strategic communications

  • Provide research about the donor landscape and help to build fundraising strategies

  • Develop, review and improve slide decks, pitch documents and communication materials for us and our clients

  • Conduct ad hoc research across various subject areas

  • Provide project management and input to problem resolution

  • Actively participate in a variety of meetings with clients, freelancers and other stakeholders

  • Input to business development and other ad hoc activities to support the successful growth of Cambridge Grove Consulting.

What you'll need

  • For the Junior Consultant role: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the not-for-profit sector. We may consider experience levels outside of this range for exceptional candidates.

  • For the Senior Consultant role: demonstrable experience as a consultant in the philanthropic or non-profit sector, ideally working directly on climate issues

    Across both roles:

  • Experience of working for, or with, philanthropic foundations

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrable interest and experience in climate change, sustainability, air pollution and/or other environmental/social issues

  • Ability to multi-task and manage uncertainty, supported by strong organisational skills

  • Desire to help the team and business to grow

  • Comfort in a start-up environment where formal processes and systems are lacking

  • Familiarity and confidence with a range of IT applications

To apply:

We’re not advertising a day rate for these roles, as the amount we will pay will be proportionate to the skills and experience you bring, regardless of an upper or lower limit. We’re open-minded because our priority is to find the right people.

We expect to offer initial, six-month fixed-term consultancy contracts, but with the intention to extend or make permanent.

We are open to recruiting on a part or full-time basis.

We are flexible on location, provided you have at least some business hours overlap with UK time zones.
